IIT Mandi incubated startup introduces smart yoga mat named 'Yogifi'

A startup nurtured at IIT Mandi has created a Yoga mat empowered with artificial intelligence (AI), which was showcased to Union Ministers in this location.

The Ministry of Science and Technology presented the 'YogiFi' mat to several esteemed ministers, including External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar, Railways, I&B and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

According to the ministry, the utilization of AI and Computer Vision (CV) technologies in the mat has the capability to transform the yoga practice at home, providing a comfortable experience.

The device is furnished with an integrated sensor layer that effectively monitors the yoga practitioners' postures and provides real-time recommendations to rectify any incorrect postures.

The ministry has outlined numerous advantages of the mat, which is a completely indigenous product under the 'Make in India' initiative.

The offerings consist of basic yoga asana instruction, engaging yoga sessions, immediate posture feedback, and tailored guidance accessible globally at any given moment.

The YogiFi Smart Mat also comes with a companion app that offers personalized yoga routines and classes. The app syncs with the mat, allowing you to follow along with virtual instructors who guide you through various yoga sequences. The mat's sensors detect your movements and provide instant feedback on your form, ensuring you perform each pose correctly.

The YogiFi Smart Mat is not just a yoga mat; it is a complete yoga ecosystem that seamlessly integrates with your smart home devices, creating the perfect environment for your yoga practice. With its advanced technology, real-time feedback, and personalized routines, this smart mat revolutionizes the way we approach yoga, making it more accessible, enjoyable, and effective for practitioners of all levels.
